Heart-shaped jewellery is a classic gift that women appreciate any time
of the year, not just for Valentine's Day. Hearts are the universal
symbol of love, and heart jewellery is appropriate for daughters, wives,
mothers, and grandmothers. How could a man go wrong by giving the
ladies in his life sentimental jewellery? A heart design is classic, and will always be the most popular choice
for Valentine's Day because it is the universal symbol of love.
Be thoughtful. It's not about the money you can spend, nor the jewellery
you would like to see her wear. Ask yourself what this gift will mean
to her, will she still wear your gift or will it wind up in the drawer with all
the other jewellery that didn't fit her personality or style?
Our handmade jewellery by various jewellery artists make wonderful unique valentines day gifts.
Finding the right Valentine's Day gift is probably the most difficult
shopping experience in any man's life. The nature of the gift can reflect how much you care, or don't care,
about her. Women generally appreciate that you spent some time selecting a gift.
So it's a good idea to listen to what she says, pick up on a hint she
may mention in passing, and then surprise her with it.
Our perfume bottles by various glass artists make wonderful unique valentines day gifts.

Laurel Keeley Coloured Work
This range is hand painted with coloured porcelain slips, incised with lime and glazed with stains. A pure gold is fired into the surface during a third firing. Fish, rivers, ponds, fields and landscapes are themes in this work.
Siddy's
glasswork is translucent, and the colours have a rich
three-dimensional quality. They convey her deeply-held beliefs
about the richness and value of our environment and its fragility
and vulnerability. Siddy is a keen diver and the glass conveys her
wonder and fascination at the richness of life on the sea bed. She
has never lost that fascination that children have when they first
pick up a marble and hold it to the light - that tiny world inside the
glass, constantly changing as the light catches the patterns within
the glass. Siddy has recently developed the technique of 'drawing'
into the glass before it is blown, so that the glass can be used as a
unique medium for expression, ideal for representing her love of
the natural world.
Bev O’Brien began working in stained glass creating
windows and hangings. Her fascination of glass led to a taster in
fused glass art and after further training in the technical aspects of warm
glass with Bristol based Mike Rowe at IGF, she invested in a kiln and hasn’t looked back since.
Bev
lives and works from her home studio in Wells, Somerset. The panels,
coasters and bowls often reflect sea and water scenes for which she has
a particular passion.
Each piece of glass is handmade and individually designed so no two pieces
are ever quite the same. Layers of glass are kiln fused for sometimes
over 24 hours, allowing the glass to anneal slowly ensuring safety and
longevity.
We have examples of glass jewellery, glass hangings, garden ornaments and glass bowls available to view in the gallery or to buy online.
The Craft Fusion studios are based on the Devon /
Cornwall borders and were established by Gregg Anston-Race a leading
Cornish glass fusion artist.
Gregg works in a
innovated and contemporary style, using the beautiful countryside of
the Southwest to inspire his work, Gregg uses his advanced knowledge of
the glass fusion technique to allow him to take his work to a new state
creating exciting works in glass.
Gregg
studied at advanced art and design at collage before working for a
large glass studio, working there Gregg discovered his passion for
fused glass and a desire to develop his own style using this medium. Gregg hopes that his fused glass gives others as much pleasure to own, as it has given him to create.
