Laurel Keeley Coloured Work
This range is hand painted with coloured porcelain slips, incised with lime and glazed with stains. A pure gold is fired into the surface during a third firing. Fish, rivers, ponds, fields and landscapes are themes in this work.
Siddy's
glasswork is translucent, and the colours have a rich
three-dimensional quality. They convey her deeply-held beliefs
about the richness and value of our environment and its fragility
and vulnerability. Siddy is a keen diver and the glass conveys her
wonder and fascination at the richness of life on the sea bed. She
has never lost that fascination that children have when they first
pick up a marble and hold it to the light - that tiny world inside the
glass, constantly changing as the light catches the patterns within
the glass. Siddy has recently developed the technique of 'drawing'
into the glass before it is blown, so that the glass can be used as a
unique medium for expression, ideal for representing her love of
the natural world.
Bev O’Brien began working in stained glass creating
windows and hangings. Her fascination of glass led to a taster in
fused glass art and after further training in the technical aspects of warm
glass with Bristol based Mike Rowe at IGF, she invested in a kiln and hasn’t looked back since.
Bev
lives and works from her home studio in Wells, Somerset. The panels,
coasters and bowls often reflect sea and water scenes for which she has
a particular passion.
Each piece of glass is handmade and individually designed so no two pieces
are ever quite the same. Layers of glass are kiln fused for sometimes
over 24 hours, allowing the glass to anneal slowly ensuring safety and
longevity.
We have examples of glass jewellery, glass hangings, garden ornaments and glass bowls available to view in the gallery or to buy online.
The Craft Fusion studios are based on the Devon /
Cornwall borders and were established by Gregg Anston-Race a leading
Cornish glass fusion artist.
Gregg works in a
innovated and contemporary style, using the beautiful countryside of
the Southwest to inspire his work, Gregg uses his advanced knowledge of
the glass fusion technique to allow him to take his work to a new state
creating exciting works in glass.
Gregg
studied at advanced art and design at collage before working for a
large glass studio, working there Gregg discovered his passion for
fused glass and a desire to develop his own style using this medium. Gregg hopes that his fused glass gives others as much pleasure to own, as it has given him to create.
Peter Layton latest range of Art Glass is called Skyline. Several new pieces of his new range are available to buy online or view in the gallery. Peter Laytons work is constantly evolving. The studio has a reputation as one of Europe's
leading glassmaking workshops with a particular flair for the use of colour,
form and texture. An inveterate beachcomber, his work is often drawn from some aspect
of nature or something observed while travelling.
This book is now out of print. We have NO copies left. All copies are signed by Peter Layton. We dont expect to have these for long and don't know if there will be a re-print. ALL SOLD OUT.
Peter Layton and Simon Moss seek to exploit the abstract and dynamic interplay of light, colour and movement in their chosen materials. Mirror polished stainless steel and glass exhibit visual ambiguity, kaleidoscopic images appearing and dissolving through movement and interaction with the work.
Peter Layton and Associates Limited have an excellent reputation for versatility in design and the innovative use of material and technique, including blowing, kiln forming and casting to create architectural elements and sculptures that enrich the spaces for which they are conceived.
Laurel Keeley creates wonderful vibrant and unique ceramics. We are delighted to be representing her at Spinnakers Gallery with her Ceramics. We are currently showing 20 pieces of Ceramic art by her.
Laurel says: "I use stoneware and porcelain clays, with turquoise and green, coral and cream, dark drawn lines and pure gold. I draw fish and rivers, round ponds and plants, glimpses of water through windows. I paint the pattern of fields, the sweep of the Moor and the careful planting and structure of gardens.
The exhibition will feature new watercolours of Venice by John Rochester as well as blown glass by internationally renowned glassblowers Peter Layton & Anthony Stern, and sand cast glass sculptures by Sue Parry.
The exhibition will run from 3rd to 24th November, and for further information, please contact the gallery on 01363 774885.
