Siddy's
glasswork is translucent, and the colours have a rich
three-dimensional quality. They convey her deeply-held beliefs
about the richness and value of our environment and its fragility
and vulnerability. Siddy is a keen diver and the glass conveys her
wonder and fascination at the richness of life on the sea bed. She
has never lost that fascination that children have when they first
pick up a marble and hold it to the light - that tiny world inside the
glass, constantly changing as the light catches the patterns within
the glass. Siddy has recently developed the technique of 'drawing'
into the glass before it is blown, so that the glass can be used as a
unique medium for expression, ideal for representing her love of
the natural world.

Siddy's work is exhibited and collected worldwide,
with several permanent exhibitions in Britain. She will,
occasionally, produce pieces to commission, but prefers to do
one-offs, or a series of works done to a common theme. Each piece is
made and finished by her and is individually signed. She believes
strongly that her work should remain accessible for people who are
attracted to her style, so will do simple pieces which cost little to
buy as well as major works that represent a more considerable
investment. For her, the important thing is that people buy her work
because it attracts and fascinates them, because of the pleasure of
holding the work up to the eye, and reflecting on the complex play
of light within the surface of the glass, to possess an object
wrought by hand from the four elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and
water.
